The Summer of 2025 was filled with learning and excitement for the Max Siegel Inc. Youth Foundation. The foundation hosted two separate camps: one in Indianapolis, Ind. and the other in Charlotte, N.C.
The MSI Youth Foundation combines the proven power of sports with passionate commitment to creating change and opportunities for the young people in our communities, primarily underserved youth. The focus is simple, preparing the next generation of future leaders, athletes, educators, business owners, and industry leaders.
The foundation teamed up with Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS), Dallara Indy Car Factory, General Motors, and the STEAM team from the Charlotte Motor Speedway to provide students with a premier racing experience. Students participated in Dallara Experience Hub tours while having access to STEAM activities such as a scaled wind tunnel, pull–back cars, and radio-controlled car racing. In the afternoon, students climbed into racing simulators to experience the thrill of piloting a race car.
Day two in Indianapolis took place at Speedway Indoor Karting, where students competed on the karting track and a gyro robot track throughout the day. The camp concluded with a day at Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS), where students were immersed in racing history on a tour of the newly renovated IMS Museum and a trip to Victory Lane!
Later in the summer, the MSI Youth Foundation hosted the second Leadership and Development Summer Camps in Charlotte, partnering once again with the STEAM team from Charlotte Motor Speedway and the Boys & Girls Club of Cabarrus County. Through the first two days, students participated in many STEAM activities, including Bac-Propeller car building and racing; science experiments; and reaction training on a Portatree. Charlotte Motor Speedway gave the group the opportunity to ride around their track, an activity filled with screams of laughter and smiles as they felt the extreme banking of the turns on the track.
To close out the second camp, students visited the Rev Racing shop, where they received extensive shop tours with the young drivers of Rev Racing. The group learned about the different jobs found around the shop and the many facets of running a race shop.
With another year of summer camps complete, the MSI Youth Foundation looks forward to future opportunities to provide local students with eye-opening introductions to the racing world.
